All ye woolgatherers be sure to gather round the Salomon Farm Park in May to make merry at the 2-day annual Fiber Arts Celebration!

The event, sponsored by the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department will run from Friday, May 13, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 14, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Salomon Farm Park, 817 W. Dupont Road.

Take a peek at the petting zoo of live sheep, alpacas, goats, rabbits and other animals from which fibers of our clothing are made. Learn the various facets of the fiber arts such as carding, knitting, felting, spinning, crocheting, weaving, and others. Many items will be on sale, including equipment, supplies and apparel from vendors on-site. Families can enjoy watching the process of how wool travels from animal all the way up to that lovely sweater. Marvel at the creation of rugs, hats, bags, toys and additional items that are made from the coats of animals.

Hands-on activities and demonstrations are included as is a wagon ride provided by the Tri-State Antique Tractor Club. There will be food and drink vendors on the campus.

The event is produced by the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department / Salomon Farm Park and sponsored by the Flax & Fleecers Spinning Guild.
