Some of my favorite childhood memories involve exploring gardens. I loved smelling the flowers and herbs, touching the soft lamb’s-ear plant, and seeing all the beautiful colors and textures. I would imagine I had discovered my own Secret Garden or was Peter Rabbit escaping Mr. McGregor.
After this past winter, the kids in your life probably have thoughts of snow, ice, and cold at the forefronts of their mind. Make memories this spring at the Botanical Conservatory’s Easter in the Garden event.
The Conservatory is conveniently nestled in the heart of Fort Wayne. It boasts several indoor and outdoor gardens, and it’s in this habitat children will hunt for Easter eggs and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. There will also be games, crafts, and live animals including baby chicks, ducks, bunnies, sheep, and goats to celebrate the arrival of spring. An adult must be present with the children, which means you can relive some of your own childhood memories.
Make sure to enjoy the rest of the Conservatory as well to see the different displays of lush environments. There will be light refreshments at the event, but for a larger lunch you can easily find The Bagel Station Uptown (one of my favorite downtown cafe eateries) conveniently located in the Conservatory gift shop.
Parking can be found at the nearby Civic Center Parking Garage, and is free with an admission ticket to the gardens. There is also metered street parking. Further details on parking and having your ticket validated can be found here.
