Need a coffee fix? Try these six!I am, unashamedly, a coffee addict. As much as I enjoy a soothing cup of coffee at a chain restaurant, I prefer finding cafes with personality – and with more unique coffee flavors. Fortunately, Fort Wayne is booming with great places to grab a quick Cup of Joe or to stay and savor your drink. Here is a round-up of six cafes I recommend around the city. Anastasia’s Café Located in The Hollows on the city’s southwest side, the Café is combined with Cheer Baskets, Inc., an all-occasion gift basket company. The atmosphere itself is cheerful and warm, and it’s a relaxing place to unwind- or to work, using the free Wi-Fi. Boar’s Head delicatessen. Anastasia’s Café can satisfy anyone’s tastebuds, for sure! Come visit Anastasia’s Café at 7121 W. Jefferson Blvd. and on Facebook here. Also on the southwest side of the city, Mocha Lounge is filled with coffee aromas, comfy couches and game tables; you’ll be glad you stayed here awhile! It’s an ideal place for small group meetings, as there are multiple seating arrangements, and Wi-Fi is available. You can also pay a visit to Orchard Gallery next door. Mocha Lounge is located at 6312 Covington Rd. and on Facebook here. 260-434-1999 Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Friendly Fox Whenever I drive by the Friendly Fox, it takes everything in my willpower to not stop and grab a cup of chai! In my opinion, this place has some of the best chai in the city, and it’s one of my favorite places to relax with a friend or a good book.
The café is located in a residential area on Fort Wayne’s south side, not far from downtown; I believe this location helps create a homey ambiance inside. Check it out yourself at 4001 S. Wayne Ave. The website here contains a menu and customer reviews, as well as photos, and you can view its Facebook page here. Wi-Fi is available.260-745-3369 Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Dash-In When I need a sure-fire caffeine boost, I hop over to The Dash-In, downtown on 814 S. Calhoun St., for an Espresso Malt. Two words: yum, and YUM! This will be a must-have for me on a hot summer day when I’m downtown at some of Fort Wayne’s many festivals.
Espresso Lovers, take note: when your travels take you to the city’s north side, you should stop by Trionfale Espresso, a specialty coffee shop and bakery, just off of I-69 and close to Dupont Hospital.Although small, I was impressed by how classy this place was! The plants and bamboo dividers were unique touches, and some Burundian coffee grounds on display added to the international flair. here, and Wi-Fi is available. 260-387-6589 Mon – Fri, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sat. 9:30 – 8:00 p.m Bon Bon’s Coffee Company
Last but not least is a fun place with an equally fun name – Bon Bon’s Coffee Company!
Bon Bon’s is on the city’s northeast side, at 6122 St. Joe Center Rd., not far from I-469. It’s close to the IPFW and Ivy Tech campuses, and Wi-Fi is available, so its a convenient location for college students to study.
