Fort Wayne's vibrant arts scene is perhaps its best kept secret. Come to Taste of the Arts 2011 August 27th at the Arts United Center, and experience it for yourself at this fine arts and food festival. This free, family-friendly event in downtown Fort Wayne promises an art marketplace, live entertainment and fare from local restaurants. Art lovers in the family will likely gravitate to the marketplace, where many area artisans gather, display and sell their artwork. Almost every kind of art you can imagine will be on hand. Insider's tip: Make sure to come with plenty of cash, as some vendors do not accept credit cards. Let your creativity flow, as local arts groups show off their talent and treasure. Among them are the Fort Wayne Ballet, Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, T.A.G. Art Company and Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Watch as Freimann Square becomes alive with "buskers," i.e. circus entertainers, jugglers, comedy acts and much more! While there, check out the live music schedule to catch a few local acts. Last, don't forget to feed the inner artist in you with some fare from participating restaurants. So there you have it - Taste of the Arts offers something for everyone!
