Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy with family and friends, but sometimes it can be stressful preparing the meal for large gatherings. If you are visiting Fort Wayne this holiday season, consider easing the burden by enlisting the help of local restaurants and caterers. They can take away the mess and the stress of Thanksgiving Day meal prep. There are many options from which to choose. Here are a few of my Insider recommendations.
Tucanos is offering three easy ways to make Thanksgiving more fun. The Tucanos Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner ($95.99) serves 6 to 8 people and includes oven roasted or deep fried whole turkey, traditional turkey stuffing, three cheese mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
The Tucanos Thanksgiving Turkey Breast Plus Dinner ($105.99) serves 6 to 8 people and includes deep-fried turkey breast, garlic parmesan beef, grilled pineapple, three-cheese mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie.
The Tucanos Full Thanksgiving Dinner ($110.99) serves 6 to 8 and includes garlic parmesan beef, turkey wrapped in bacon, sweet & spicy chicken, grilled pineapple, three-cheese mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, homemade dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie.
All orders must be placed with at least 48 hours advanced notice. Pick up and delivery are available.
Empyrean Events & Catering
Empyrean has outdone itself with its 2016 Holiday Menu, which can be downloaded from its website. It features traditional Thanksgiving fare, including hand-carved turkey breast ($64) for 15 to 20 people, served with cornbread stuffing and roasted jus; mashed potatoes ($17.50 per pan) for 20 to 25 people; mushroom stuffing ($19.50 per pan) for 20 to 25 people; and green bean casserole ($17.50 per pan) for 20 to 25 people.
The 2016 Holiday Menu also includes some delicious hors d’oeuvres like Spinach and Artichoke Dip ($2 per person), Fresh Crudites ($5 per person), an assortment of Tea Sandwiches ($2.50 per person), Pear with Goat Cheese ($2 per person), Antipasto Skewer ($2.50 per person), and Five Onion Tartlet ($1.50 per person), just to name a few.

Hetty Arts Pastry
If you’re looking for desserts that will wow your guests, Hetty Arts Pastry will not disappoint. She is now taking orders for Thanksgiving and has the following available: Pumpkin Rolls, Pecan Pies, and Pumpkin Pies, each made from scratch for $12. You can order by contacting her via Facebook or through Ted’s Market’s website.
