Build Your Own Tech Adventure, Part II – Brickworld

lego bricks 300x225 Build Your Own Tech Adventure, Part II – Brickworld

Rediscover the Magic at Brickworld!

If I had to choose the one toy that required the most imagination, the toy that allowed kids complete control over a world of their creation, I wouldn’t have to think too hard – it’s LEGO. Sure, you could build what was on the package – and I usually would – but you could always build so many other things too, limited only by your ideas and, well, sometimes, your tiny little fingers.

What better way to celebrate the legacy of LEGO and the tons of ways LEGO is still part of our lives than with Brickworld, coming to Fort Wayne, Indiana, for the first time?

All the things you love about LEGO will be here, including multiple interactive displays, mosaics, and LEGO robotics too. The event will also feature Arthur Gugick, the 2011 Brickworld Master Award winner. The Grand Wayne Center is a pretty big place, and Brickworld will cover 16,000 square feet of it. With that much LEGO lying round, be sure to wear shoes – I think we all know what it feels like to step barefoot on an errant LEGO brick.

Brickworld, together with the Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire, which I talked about in my last post, are two fantastic, family-friendly events that kids of all ages will enjoy. I know I’m looking forward to them both. As I mentioned, Brickworld will be held at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 West Jefferson Boulevard. Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for kids, but special pricing will be available for those who attend Maker Faire at Headwaters Park.
