Don’t wait. Time is running out to register for this year’s Fort-4-Fitness, a half-marathon and fitness-filled weekend in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which takes place this year on September 28 and 29.
I’m no stranger to this race. In fact, I selected Fort-4-Fitness as my first half-marathon race in 2010. This course is perfect for beginners and seasoned pros alike. From the mostly flat terrain, to beautiful views of Fort Wayne’s parks and historic neighborhoods, to crowd support along the course, Fort-4-Fitness will not disappoint. In fact, the Fort-4-Fitness is what really got me hooked on competitive road-racing and led me to continue running and complete two more half-marathons since then.
Since running Fort-4-Fitness two years ago, the event has expanded tremendously and now includes a 4-Mile Run/Walk, 10K Run/Walk, Seniors Marathon and Kids Marathon. New this year, the 4YourHealth campaign, an initiative to help inspire and promote health and well-being for everyone. The weekend also includes a health expo that is open to the public.
Race weekend is fast approaching and the registration deadline this year is creeping up. Register before Friday, September 14 to secure your bib. In the past Fort-4-Fitness has sold out due to overwhelming popularity. Now in it’s 5th year, this fall event continues to grow and promote healthy living in the Midwest.
Join the movement and stay healthy and active. Run or walk, or attend this year’s race as a spectator. You won’t be disappointed! Find Fort-4-Fitness online, along with course maps, registration information and race-day tips. Be sure to follow the event on Twitter and Facebook as well. See you at the starting line!
