In 2016, Indiana is celebrating its 200th Birthday. During the whole year, we will be celebrating the state’s bicentennial with dozens of unique projects – from The History Center’s “200@200” object exhibit to Allen County Parks’ Trailblazers program.
The Bicentennial-themed events throughout the year all aim to honor our state's 200 years of history, and they will do so in a way that will engage Hoosiers in a modern way to create a lasting legacy! Local events like Winterval, Three Rivers Festival, TinCaps baseball games, and Be A Tourist in Your Own Hometown will all be branded with Bicentennial themes as well.
On October 1, 2016, plan your visit to Fort Wayne to see the state-wide torch relay make its way through Allen County! The torch relay will make stops throughout all of Indiana's 92 counties! Learn more about the torch relay and the torch relay route.
As more community events are being planned in Allen County in 2016, visitors and community members can expect a variety of events that will help us all celebrate.

The Allen County Public Library’s Genealogy Center invites all Hoosiers to contribute images of “life lived in the small places” as that is what makes, and has made, Indiana great. These can include children at play, people at work, people hanging out, sporting events, homes and buildings, and so much more.
To show your Hoosier pride, please contribute a new or old picture along with a description of the image, detailing Who and What Makes Indiana Great!
The Genealogy Center will be accepting images from December 11, 2015, to December 11, 2016.
