Housing the largest public genealogy collection in the U.S., this is one library that draws tourists from near and far. The Genealogy Center, located in the Allen County Public Library in downtown Fort Wayne, recently tripled in size after the completion of a $50 million renovation project. Hailed as a “genealogical nirvana” by Family Tree Magazine, the department’s renowned collection contains over 300,000 printed volumes and 314,000 items of microfilm and microfiche.
